Glass Artist Gavin Heath and metal sculptor Larry Gill, two local artists, worked together to create this artwork.
The bench is made of stainless steel, concrete, and colorful cast glass inlays that resemble tide pools, which are common in Laguna Beach and may be found right below the cliffs of the park.
This useful sculptured concrete bench in Heisler Park, Laguna Beach, California, also acts as a bus stop and features hand-cast glass insets depicting tide pools.
The bench was made possible by a donation from Beverly Kaye, and it has a plaque honoring her parents who spent their dying days at the park and enjoyed it greatly. For the occasion, about 40 people showed up, including Councilman Steve Dicterow.
